From figueroa Sat Aug 2 18:52:50 2003 Subject: General Convention Report 8/2 To: philemon Date: Sat, 2 Aug 2003 18:52:50 -0400 (EDT) Dear faithful AAC members and friends and guests, Report from the General Convention at Minneapolis The initial vote on the consent for Gene Robinson to become the bishop coadjutor of New Hampshire is in the House of Deputies tomorrow afternoon, probably between 2-3 p.m. local (Central Daylight Time). We are organized for a good representation on the floor of the house. Our presence in the committee hearings was nothing short of awesome. Then it is in God's hands. Please pray for this and us, especially Jeff Brown and this sinner, both from St. Christopher's, Fairborn. The predictors are not hopeful. Take a deep breath and promise to yourselves and God that you will not react to quickly or excessively if this goes bad. The consent process will move to the House of Bishops if it passes the House of Deputies. It must pass both houses for the consent to be given. Pray for our bishops (all 100 + of them who will be voting on this if it passes the deputy vote). Keep the faith. Pray for each other.
